A layover flight is a connecting flight between two destinations. Sometimes stops need to be made during air travel either to change aircraft or, in a few instances, to pick up passengers. These are called layovers or connections.
The length of layovers can go anywhere from a few hours to a whole day and sometimes, even more. A longer layover can also be referred to as a stopover.
Depending on if your flights have been booked separately or on a single ticket, your luggage may or may not have to be rechecked before boarding the connecting flight. Similarly, different countries and airlines have varying policies on whether passengers need to check in again and go through immigration or not. Flying chartered helps reduce layovers, which in turn saves time and money.
